Thank you for wanting to help stop diseases and infections in Indiana by using vaccines. Being an advocate means speaking up for what you think is important, telling your own story, and teaching others about keeping our community safe. We want to remind you that advocating can actually be enjoyable! It’s a chance to meet new folks, have useful talks, and assist others in making smart choices about their health.

Advocacy Projects for Parents

1. CONTRIBUTE TO THE HOOSIERS VACCINATE BLOG

Share your story with other parent advocates and future advocates. Tell us why YOU believe in the importance of vaccines and having your child vaccinated.

2. REACH OUT TO LEGISLATORS

Set up a meeting with your legislator. Say hello and let them know you support vaccines. Tell them you’re ready to speak up if there’s a chance to share your thoughts. Keep in mind, they’re here to represent YOU!

Search for your legislator information here.

3. SPEAK WITH SCHOOL OFFICIALS

Reach out to one of your local schools about vaccinations. This could be speaking with a nurse, the PTA board or member, an administrator—or wherever you already have an “in.”
